ACRE
In 1935, nine out of ten rural homes didn't have electricity. And, nine out of ten urban homes did. This disparity led farmers across the nation to enlist the help of their legislators to create the national electric cooperative program.
The Action Committee for Rural Electrification (ACRE) is the political action committee of the nation's electric cooperative members. ACRE supports candidates for office who will speak for and protect the interests of electric cooperative members - safe, reliable, affordable power for rural Americans.
