Their biographies are presented in their own words.

   Stephen Dausey

My name is Stephen Dausey and I've been a lifelong resident of Alger County, where my wife, Kristi, and I proudly raised our three children and recently celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary.  I have been employed by the City of Munising for over 30 years, during which time I also owned and operated a small business.  I enjoy volunteering my time to serve the community and have been a volunteer firefighter for 32 years collectively.  I volunteered on the Munising City Fire Department for 22 years and am currently serving on the Munising Township Fire Department and the Tri-County Fire Department.  We have been Alger Delta members for over 20 years and couldn’t imagine living in a better area than the beautiful U.P.

I was appointed to the Alger Delta board in 2023 for District 9 and became accredited through the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association the following year.  I believe that my experience as a small business owner as well as a municipal employee gives me valuable insight into the many different aspects of running a successful business.  During my time with the board, I have learned a great deal and would like the opportunity to continue to contribute helping us keep our co-op strong but also to strive for more reliable and affordable electricity for our members.  I've enjoyed serving you in the Hiawatha/Maple Ridge District and would appreciate your support in the upcoming election.

   Marci (Seymour) Taskey

Hello! My name is Marci (Seymour) Taskey, and I am proud to be a lifelong resident of North Delta. Many of you may remember me as the little redhead running around The Hub Truck Stop in Trenary, which was owned by my parents, Marcel (Red) and Shirley Seymour, along with my grandmother Maude. I grew up in this community, attending Head Start in Traunik and then from kindergarten through graduation I was in Rapid River school, later graduating there. I also attended NMU with a degree in cosmetology.

In 1988, I married my late husband, Michael Taskey, at St. Rita’s Catholic Church in Trenary. We built our log home in Traunik from the ground up, a testament to hard work, determination, and the value of community. Even after his passing in 2013, I’ve continued to embrace those values — whether it’s tackling DIY projects, maintaining my property and apple orchard along with my blackberry patch or preparing camp for the upcoming deer hunting season. I enjoy going to car shows with my brother and sister! I have a deep appreciation for the classics! I also enjoy restoring old furniture, and mowing my yard, or any yard if I have the time…

I am deeply connected to our community, both personally and through service. My experience includes:

  • Lifelong member of the Alger/Delta Cooperative
  • Trustee on the Limestone Township Board and member of the Board of Review
  • Election Worker for Limestone Township
  • Current Chairman of the Board for the Alger County Road Commission

I have always believed in stepping up to help where needed — whether that means making people and friends smile through my passion for hairstyling, cooking for family and friends, looking after many camps and summer homes for my wonderful community or serving on boards that directly impact our community. I understand the challenges we face, including labor shortages, the rising cost of labor, and inflation. My commitment is to work diligently, ensuring our cooperative remains strong and sustainable for generations to come.

I would be honored to have your support. Together, we can make a difference!
